First flight

Funny, the LHM people weren't that curious, I guess since mine is a toy compared to what they develop its humdrum.

The company I retired from was/is nothing but drones. When asking the CEO for permission to aerial film a company sponsored employee recreational event he made it clear anyone with an objection needed to be working somewhere else[emoji4]

All went well.

Did not take it above 100ft. Operated it in smart/angle mode, GPS disabled etc. Out to about 200 yards. One issue i did have was towards the end. I has 2 compass errors. This was after my low battery warning and wonder if it starts regulating power more aggressively in that state. It was also near a metal light pole about 3 ft off the ground both times.

.
I've noticed on the very rare occasions that I've let my H get to the first warning that the aircraft becomes a bit unstable. Indeed, I now never let my aircraft to reach the first low level warning and I strongly advise other pilots to do likewise...always be on the ground with motors off by 14.4v.

But I've also noticed that I too sometimes get compass errors at the time of landing no matter what the battery level...and also at the time of raising or lowering the landing gear. I've learned that this is not an issue so long as the duration of these errors is short lived...no more than a second or so.

IMHO, then, I suspect your compass errors are a symptom of the low battery level than anything else. Yes, flying near to anything metal or electrical won't help...but flying with a low battery certainly ain't gonna help either.

My compass errors have generally occurred just before or just after liftoff. I always start out taking the H480 up 15-20 ft and making sure it does a stable hover before flying. If I get the compass error I simply land and shutdown the H480 and start it back up again. The flight seems to go smoothly after that. Perhaps I've just been lucky.
