The reason for the airport shut down is highly suspect but the aftermath is going to be widespread and heavy handed. It won’t be limited to the U.K.
It's not a window fitter from Crawley thenwhoever is behind it could be educated to PhD level.
which could point to something the Authorities can't deal with. Let's hope it's not a sledgehammer response in a total ban! Since the pair are innocent, it's back to the drawing board. It's not a window fitter from Crawley then![]()
And there's the rub. If they did bring in a total ban, it wouldn't stop incidents like this from happening. If you can read, anyone can learn how to build a drone. There are already laws/rules pertaining to flying near airports, it didn't stop this 'alleged' incident from happening. There are laws pertaining to drinking and driving, and yet people still do it. So we should just ban all cars then?which could point to something the Authorities can't deal with. Let's hope it's not a sledgehammer response in a total ban! I agree I had said to my dad it could be the government doing this to make a case to tighten the laws now they had a cobra meeting or so they said so this means the good guys will be getting hit with the bad stick so could mean tighter license laws that's still to be started and it's just another money spinner for the greedy government as it is and with the drones disappearing then re appearing sounds like a battery change and they have a man and woman in custody so 2 drones well let's hope they get publicly named as this could all be a rooseIf it was industrial sized drones, there can’t be that many owners/operators from which to contact. Truly makes one wonder if the government is doing it to pad its case for even more and tighter restrictions on sUAS operators.
It is rather odd there is only one night time video and it doesn’t show squat.
I do feel for those stranded and put out by the closing of Gatwick. Airports are not conducive to comfort and pleasantries after being there just a few hours, much less many hours or days. Hoping for a swift end to this ballyhoo.
If they are caught and convicted jail is inappropriate. They should be strung up spread eagle in public and have their drone launched into their unmentionables.
Governments have a habit of overacting, look at Dangerous dog act, they are still breeding illegal dogs, drones seem to be an easy target, people are always being approached by angry people. This doesn't improve relations. I'm not sure of the photos it could be Fake news! And there's the rub. If they did bring in a total ban, it wouldn't stop incidents like this from happening. Oh well, I was so looking forward to seeing pictures of those drones as well......
A picture of the drone or the alleged drone pilot? I've visited the Daily Record site and can find absolutely nothing on this story. Put a link in would you?Yes if you go to the daily record online newspaper it's a Scottish daily it also shows their picture
Yes but the hobbies will get the backlash always the bloody same in this *** countryIn an earlier post of mine I quoted a so called expert, that they would of had to of been educated to PhD or masters, he went on to talk about using mobile networks to avoid jamming etc, seems almost he was admitting it was a sophisticated operation, not hobbyist. It seemed he knew the systems needed to do it.
Thanks for the link. LOL! I don't think his model RC helicopter in any way whatsoever relates to an industrial type drone. And why did the article go on to mention the value of his house, what has that got to do with this incident? The press are truly appalling, they really are. And it is clear from that article right from the start, that this bloke had nothing to do with it.
