I am having the same problem with the SD card. I haven't taken it outside yet and am scared after losing two q 500's. Not really scared but apprehensive.

If it revolves in pan mode and all icons seem in order will this bird fly inspite of the SD not detected. It seems like everything else is in order. The compass calibration has not been done yet.

Yes it will still fly, I had a dodgy card and didnt have a spare, so flew it to drain down battery all OK.

I would suggest flying without the camera first anyway. At least until you get a feel for how it handles.

Can you post a picture of the cards you are using and how you are attempting to put them into the camera. Use the Attach files button below the reply box.

I will give you guys a full report after first flight. Will it record anyway in case I get the urge to try. I know things will be different than the q but flying the q was never a problem, nature is another problem none of us can change that. Today is perfect but I want to be certain about the all of the functions on the St 16 before I take off. They all seem to be easy enough even after having an st12. The last time I felt ready I accidentally dragged the q500 until the famous three wires from the drone to the camera came loose.??

If the ST-16 still doesn’t recognize the SD card in the camera you won’t be able to record video or photos.

Take the camera off. Do the compass calibration before you fly. Let the TH sit powered on for at least 12 minutes to get the almanac downloaded from the satellites before you arm the motors and take off. Fly in Angle mode, NOT Smart mode until you learn what Smart mode does.

You need to make sure the camera works, try another card and format if you can.

Well the SD card has been solved with some help from my wife and now the charging situation is also fixed. It's a beautiful day but even with the sun screen I won't do anything except the compass Cal. I want the screen to be totally visable when I take off. I'LL be back when I make my first attempt. Thanks guys,

You don't fly looking at the screen all the time. Your eyes needs to be more focused on the drone.
