Do I need special software to stitch the photos together or what?

I tried a couple of panoramas yesterday and ended up with simply a ton of photos..

searched and found answers, sorry.

First question: are you willing to pay for software for panos or do you only consider free software?

Second question: Do you already own photo software such as Photoshop or Lightroom?

I just downloaded Microsoft ICE
but the panorama photos are not easily identifiable among the dozens of other photos in that folder, I thought it might group them together, or label them in some intuitive manner.

I have Photoshop seat license, but I rarely use it, and it is not currently installed on any of my normal machines.

You should be able to identify the sequence by file name/number or time. You should be able to sort the files by either. In the future you might consider shooting a single photo of the sky or ground that’s easily identifiable between pano sequences.

Because panos include ground shots you may find it helpful to flip the gimbal velocity switch to the bottom position and take a shot of the props for a “separation”photo. If you plan on shooting panos, clear the card of all earlier files except the highest numbered file before initiating pano shots and shoot only pano stills for the duration of the flight. Videos are easily isolated if those are shot as well. Download and clear the card of all but the last file afterwards.
