Just couple of days ago I made first automated flight based on Arducopter Mission planner. I did waypoints in Missionplanner, saved mission to file and converted it to Typhoon H CCC (Curve Cable Cam) mission file format and just copied this file to the ST16 controllers filesystem. It totally works on field and mission was able to run. Google Maps based missionplanner for Typhon H is possible to do. It just need some software development work.

Greetings, so APM2.0 will work with the ST16 controller? I have not attempted to do so as I am on MAC, not PC. Would you please be a little more specific on which programs work with the links?

Nice work! Where can you get this program at?

How did you do the conversion? by hand?

Was this just a matter of editing the file format, or was it more involved? Also since we're just using the Mission Planner, I assume the hardware drivers don't need to be installed?

Here are two files you can look at for comparison. pw-mp.txt is the file created in mission planner. pw-h-mod.txt is the ccc file created on the H, and concatenated to make it a bit easier to read. Other than figuring out what a few columns actually do, you can see it would be relatively easy to modify the mission planner file to be a yuneec ccc file. PS: the lat and long numbers don't match, but I did my best to follow the route I planned in MP.

Thanks, This is very helpful!

Greetings, I am very interested in the current development from start to finish. Would you please message me so we can discuss privately @jasakuva ?
I did it just by editing excisting Typhon H CCC mission file by using values from Mission Planner mission file. So, it was only show case to show it is possible to fly Typhoon H using pre-planned waypoints. I am software developer and system specialist, but in different area. I hope some one get this waypoint issue to develop.

In Allan post #8 is good examples of Typhoon H file and Mission Planners file.

I think, now we have all needed data and information. All we need is some capable software developer and then we will have mission planner for Typhoon H... If it can be run in Android tablet and phone, it can be connected to the ST16 by USB OTG cable and then it has acces to ST16 filesystem.

Have you looked at the following solution?

UAV Toolbox - Yuneec ST-16

This appears to be a nice solution for the H. It's hard for developers to create a library of applications for Yuneec UAVs, due to the fact that Yuneec has not made available a developer's API / Application. Unlike DJI; who has done so, and you can see the results in the available applications that are of top quality with great functionality.

If anyone has any similar resources, please let me / the rest of us know.

Cheers

Yuneec is making an SDK for the H520. So maybe we H users might get some action

As the author of UAV Toolbox, I'm talking with Yuneec about future software. There are a lot of possibilities for autonomous flight modes and map based planning, and the upcoming releases from Yuneec should help unlock that.

A lot comes down to what the end users want and will pay for though. Some tools are cool to play with, but take a long time to develop and only a handful of people need them enough to pay for them. One of the reasons that there are a lot more apps for DJI products is that there are a lot more customers buying apps - it's a virtuous cycle.

Just as an idea what about making it a mini crowd funded (kickStarter type thing) .
With say sevral layers of unlock to the program .
I.E leval one basic waypoint mission planning . At one price then
Leval two The same with a site scan option with anouther higher price point .

Now programing is not my forte but this would at least give you an idea of sales potentional .
And a pot of cash up front
