First attempt at Real Estate Video (don't tell that drone police guy)

Here is a tip from a SteadiCam owner. When you're walking indoors or outdoors prior to starting to walk, slowly move your camera forward prior to walking when stopping slowly bring the camera back towards you, with practice that will smooth out your starts and stops, you could have also edited out your starts and just began with after you start walking. I would also shoot a reveal at some point whereby you "reveal" the house to the viewer with a pan from another direction. The indoor work is suitable for illustration purposes but make sure you turn on all the indoor lighting. For indoor shots I'm glad I can use a Steadicam for walking thru doorways etc. It's good you're posting things like this to give others ideas about how to use the H in creative ways.

I guess I'm the one you're referring to as the drone police guy :) . Funny ... but seriously it look likes you really know how to do this and I want to be friends with you. This is a nice video and exactly what im tryingto do. Maybe we could learn from each other. I have the same handheld unit. You live too far away from me so it doesn't matter to me, I won't bother you . You're in Idaho and I'm in iowa. You can obviously do this so you really should get licensed. FAA reads these forums too. Could I ask what you are charging for a piece like this? Also, what editor are you using? I have Power Director 14.

Nothing, the house we live in they bought from a realtor who lived in it, Graig called him and asked if he would let me work for him in exchange for practice, so I cannot beat it :) I have to try again today or tomorrow, the house is a corner lot, terrible ugly side yard, backyard is a sliver, and there are weird lines on the exterior of the house that make it look like a hobby house you nail together.. anyway the little bit of gear I have will work once I master it and that takes practice .. so i got lucky, I have a leaning disability and the 107 is out of reach for now studying on my own aeronautical maps and clouds and things I will never deal with. But Im saving my chnage and maybe there will be a schoolroom style class soon..

This is my first time shooting inside ,I use the Action cam, the camera off of the H I had it set where the gimbal is all automatic, mistake I believe going to use it today where it wont tilt and change the horizon lines. And I use Adobe Premiere elements 14 its cheap but its easy I was very very nervous and messed up my video and audio settings but thats the neat thing is i have to codes to get in the house (s) I can go back and play-- thanks for the nice words but its really beginners luck, and having someone to let me practice is huge :)

That's a great video, glad you're figuring out how to make it work!

Only comments would be that shooting the interior stuff from 'chest height' feels a little low, but I've no idea what the professional guidance is on that. Also, it's a great big house, but you only showed one bedroom! When you're making such a comprehensive video, it starts feeling more odd for the stuff you've left out than the stuff you put in.

I really liked the flow through that you showed. Having a video makes so much more sense of the way the house fits together than static pictures of rooms. Lovely stuff!

yeah we left some stuff out on purpose the other bedroom is unfurnished, the giant walk in with all the shelf's is ugly a sin LOL Its all just practice for now :) All I have is an action cam I cannot go much higher :)

Brian,
You pretty much nailed that one.
Have to agree, try a shot about 100 feet up slowly doing one revolution to show off the neighborhood, and slowly decend on the home so you get a good idea of the yard and all.
I like the shot of entering the house, if done right with H then the steady grip, it would be hard to tell if you walked in or flew in.

yeah that was the idea , but, I forgot the H shot flying up to it, so LOL more practice

Brian,

Take a look at remotepilot101.com. He has a course for only $99. It is all video and not a ton of reading. You can watch it is much as you want. You can then construct sample tests over and over and just keep taking them. After a while you recognize the questions. Like you, I knew nothing about all the topics they cover. Using mostly that course, I got an 83 on the test. You can miss 18 of the 60 questions which gives you room to guess at the ones that come out of the blue. You can do it, you really can. If you can figure those **** cameras, you can can figure out the 107 :-) .

I saw that, I think Im going to buy it next month when I get paid -- thank you for the kind words :)

2. Forgot to turn off automatic gimbal

Automatic gimbal? Please explain. My issue when I use the action grip is getting a smooth enough walk without the bounce. I see you have a slight bounce as well -- Perhaps it is unavoidable for us? Maybe I have to learn to glide when I walk?

Wish they included the ability to mount the grip on a tripod mount -- I for one would like to use a monopod as a jib/boom indoors. For $159, I am glad I bought the action grip and feel I get even more out of my CGO3+ with it. Very early talk, I believe, had it included with the H...But, they drastically changed the included items once the package actually hit the market. Of course, I could be confusing it with the earlier Typhoon G....

well theers two settings one where the gimbal floats up down all around then the a setting where you have to use the wheel to make it go up and down.. i used the mode where its all floating and that seems to cause un level horizon lines.. I am not sure I am still leanring :) also read mickyboo's post above about walking

Okay round deaux LOL I still messed up I get real anxious , and well its nerves from the newness of it all.. I fouled up on the shady side of the house but, it's all good https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwExR76tdJrZVlVfUWE3R3k1ZmM Still processing as we speak can be downloaded but not played yet.. regards evryone, brian

I just watched this, Brian. It's good, you covered the entire house i believe. Are the houses there stucco, tile roofs, Spanish style?
On the inside, you could slow some of the rotations a bit.

I like it, I wish I could do half as well.

I wan't sure what you meant. I suppose these is a certain grip and posture one must have to make sure the camera behaves like we intend. If you are planning on using the internal audio then forget it… The fans are to loud.
