i have an issue...

They can now, pretty much any way they want after a few back and forth sessions in Congress. How they are getting away with it I don’t know as there was no issuance of an NPRM for public comment before passage.

whats the name of that new code and when will it be made effective? also, reading that law(and i know this is NOT the case) it sounds like it says the FAA cant restrict us in any way?

I wouldn't get too upset over the new language "yet". It's going to be awhile until it goes into effect and what it says is that the FAA can make changes. People are already interpreting that to mean more restrictive when in fact those changes could be exceptions so that we can continue our hobby much as we do now.

According to AMA, their goal is not to shut us down and they are willing to talk about other issues like the 400 foot limit. Like most other government things, the proof will be in the pudding.

Check out this video from AMA. They are certainly putting a positive spin on this but I think it's too early to know anything for sure.

My experience: Earlier today, I was gridding and plotting the NFL Raiders Dome Stadium, here in Las Vegas, Nevada. (I will post a photo that the H+ has captured, exclusively on here soon, because I have to gain approval for public release)

I never knew that there are total of 42! Forty two reported drone crashes. Idiots crashing on the freeway, on houses, on the Las Vegas strip, as well as known establishments. Today, I felt ashamed being called as a “Drone Operator” because due to the recklessness of some pilots. Here in Las Vegas, the FAA is making it hard, even for commercial drone operators. Before, I received my 5hrs waiver of airspace use, I had to undergo a live scan. Major hotel and casinos have a jammer, but it pose as a problem, because drone pilots are flying outside the NFZ just to get inside the no fly zone, and there goes their drones falling out of the sky like a brick, due to the frequency jammers.

I have been operating in San Francisco, California, and on occasions fly in New York, and I’m still naive, because I have been operating in a small and relaxed state. .

As @ DoomMeister it’s frigging common sense, but for some, common sense is not all that common.

Most of the “rules” are just common sense and common courtesy. The golden rule works in this situation just like in the rest of life.

And have you guys seen this? WTF!!!! Who’s 42yr virgin brother is this? Or who’s son is this? If this was my brother or son. Dear Lord! There goes some *** whopping.. lol

@AH-1G that video deserves a good GIF reply.. lol

That video was from much earlier this year. Not taken by a photo/video drone, but by a small racing drone. These things weigh just a few ounces, are very agile, and their effect on an aircraft would probably be less than a crow.

It is still a stupid stunt and the press they get is the main reason they pull this kind of shenanigan. I wish YouTube would filter this kind of thing just like they do for racist and sexist posts.
