Dear fellow pilots, I'm just starting in the drone-world and found this to be the most active forum on Yuneec drones.
When the other day an h920 came to my place it was along with an st12 remote. This one now is starting into one screen where it welcomes me and schows some parameters but than starts flipping through settings. Sometimes I can access the systems settings bit through some influence except my fingers it starts to switch options making the device not useable. Just imagine the st12 beimg set to chinese, changing timezone, ... . Sometimes it comes up with messages like "please wait". Is this activity of the screen known and if yes what are the approved ways to correct this? The battery is looking charged. I assume there was never an update to the control. Thanks for your response.

There is one available very cheap on eBay if ur located In America , well it’s the st24 instead of the st12 . I’ve never actually seen either but the st24 looks more impressive at least. It might be a good option if a repair doesn’t work out. It sounds like an issue with ur digitizer, give the display a good clean first and if it doesn’t improve perhaps open the rear shell and clean the ribbon for the digitizer, it’s at least worth a go. Price is listed at 45 dollars

Dear Stephen, thanks for your info. Yes 45$ for the ST24 is a very fair price. I'm in germany, it might not make sense to import one. The ST 24 looks very impressive and actually I have one here, too. The touchscreen of my ST24 lights up but is completely locked. It doesn't react to any touch. Both were working two years ago, when they arrived here. It was planned to be used in team mode with the CGO4. I turned away from the project, after I found out that all ten batteries for the h920 were broken and two replacement batteries arrived in bad state too. I think I have to give the ribbon cables a try. The ST12 display is clean, just yesterday I peeled away the original screen protection.

Hopefully a repair is possible. The batteries are expensive at around 200 for 2 but it would be worth it to keep flying. It would be a shame to let the model go to waste. This model must have looked very impressive when it first released, it still looks impressive, all that carbon fiber and even the storage boxes these come with are beautiful.

One of the advantages of the H920. They can use generic batteries. Some searching on sites like Amazon will usually find brand new batteries of acceptable dimensions, capacity and connectors for way less the cost of model specific and/or OEM batteries.

You did not actually say as much, but I am currently assuming the two controllers were stored under the same conditions. I am also assuming the brief description of the ST24 issue refers to an unresponsive touch screen?
Given the rarity of touch screen failures, the appearance of two failures after the same storage period would seem to suggest a common cause in the circumstances of the storage. Can you describe the storage? Locations, storage climate, duration, unusual events? (nearby lightning, heavy smoke, kids, etc.)
