Field Report Now and then.

That pretty much covers all of them, doesn’t it?[emoji6]

You have to admit, DJI built their rep around instant gratification and diversity. People are inherently lazy, avoid doing any more than absolutely necessary, and tend to avoid study. That came with the age of the internet and video games. Tap and fly is what opens their doors, and that’s the majority of doors. Pander to the masses and thou shall succeed.

It’s why regular RC is dying while multirotors are expanding. No skill, experience, or knowledge necessary to get in the air.
If you are of a certain age you remember life differently, when there was 3 channels on TV, phone boxes, no internet, "All mod cons". Slowly that generation or generations will go, they'll still be a few who live in the past as they say! But easy everything is the norm now, Flying a copter automatically, that's the way it suits most, no many only the curious want to delve below the surface, don't get wrong I don't want to take mine apart just to see where every screw and bolt goes, if I have too one day so be it. You do see the other drone users, place it on the ground a few beeps and there up and away, but I'm still stuck on the ground still preparing for launch. I like the animosity Yuneec gives, I don't like the invasion Dji wants, I think I'm old enough to discipline myself what I do.

I never thought curiosity, a desire to increase knowledge and understanding, or wanting to have the ability to make something better was a generational thing. If so, I’m glad I was not part of such a generation because that desire provided a means for me to earn $1.8 million because I understood how to do things smart people with college degrees were incapable of. That ability was obtained through a personal desire to learn as much as I could about any endeavor I chose to become involved with, and for subjects where I found performance, service or assistance were less than desirable.

I still find it difficult to accept being “average” in anything that isn’t controlled by nature.

Not all is lost!

My son (30 something) just told me how he is re-engineering his company’s software in order to work on top of another “not the masses” operating system. His hope is to evaluate whether efficiency gains can be had, and thus performance improvements as well.

Seems some of the genes really didn’t end up lost via video games and the like.

Just hope there are many, many more out there, if only obscured by what seems an overwhelming majority.

Wasn't the 60s the age when the younger generation tried to change the world? I'm not trying to be nostalgic, the University of life is always the best college, but some pieces of paper I had to get and comply as they say, providing for family is the desire which keeps me going, and to better myself, that's lost for a lot of the newer generation, a unemployment cheque saves their skins. Curiosity can kill the cat or open new doors for me.

Blame the parents, the indoctrinated socialist media and the controlled lousy educational system.?

I don’t even want to reply to threads anymore, because it’s becoming redundant, with stagnant ideas.

As far as the new generation, they will do well. Because the beauty of life is to live, love, learn and grow.

A prudent man keeps what he knows to himself, but the hearts of fools shout forth their foolishness.

Our only limits are imposed by ourselves. Those with a desire to explore, create, and excel can and will. Those willing to accept what they are given will be forever left wanting.

Regardless of our station in life there are many doors that can be opened if we are willing to explore, but we first have to push open a door.

WHAT?????

Show me an H or H+ battery that lasts 10x longer than stock.

Okay sorry it took so long to get back to you. I only gets on this thing once in a while. Because I'm out flying all the time. You want to know what battery is better than the stock where here it is. Is the Gifi Power 7000mAh

4s/14.8V LlTHIUM POLYMER Battery. You can get this at WWW.GIFIPOWER.COM

and the charger is EV-PEAK DY3. Not only it is a good charger but it also storage charge as well as a for full charge. When I first bought my TH the stock battery only lasted 15 minutes now only last 12 minutes.

Only 10 minutes on a windy day and that goes fast. But the 4S – 14.8 boat battery gives me 17+ minutes on a good day including 20 mph winds and I am in a windy place. I also can fly up to 7 miles on a clear day.

You wonder how can I fly so for. If you know how to go in your controls you can find out how to do that.

Ray.

7 miles on one battery or total distance? 3.5 miles there and back?

I work with the disabled, there true people trying to make the best of themselves, just picking up a drinking cup is an achievement when you see their faces!

That’s some tough work and it takes a special person to deal with special needs people every day. That you can help others achieve new accomplishments, no matter how small, is highly commendable. For many, even what might appear a small accomplishment, is cause for celebration. To see them achieve them is wonderful.

I'd be happy if the FAA would focus on US companies making drones here

What does that mean? The FAA has no control over who makes drones. We do, the people who buy them. As long as we flock to overseas manufacturers they will continue to flourish.

If and when tariffs get extended to toys there’s a chance for U.S. makers to be cost and price competitive with subsidized Chinese manufacturing. Until then there’s no chance.

There are some extremely good multirotors being made in the U.S. and Europe but few are willing to pay the price. There are even very high quality flight controllers made in America, including a version of Pixhawk, using American and European parts, but they suffer the same problem.

It means that they choose DJI employees the majority of the time to discuss drone issues, and they feature photos of DJI drones the majority of the time, which is odd for a company who's products were banned by the US military and US manufactuers are struggling to get up and running and since they're a US agency, they shouldn't be in the business of promoting a chinese company that's still banned by the US military IIRC.

Or maybe I'm just tired of seeing my grandchildren's future diminished by a $500 billion dollar plus Chinese trade deficit we're supposed to suffer so China keeps buying the welfare dependent ag industrial complex welfare driven excess.

Hello, in h plus you can follow an object or person other than the ST16s. As in the DJI?
