ST 16 shuts off after first Yuneec logo

The size doesn't matter much as long as it's formatted as Fat32.
So it sounds like you tried all the options.
Was the controller working before the boss's "update" ?

Although, there was an incident where once the Typhoon took off, it flew off quickly in a direction and they thought they lost it. It did RTH eventually though

I've never seen that happen but it's possible if a person launches before there is a good GPS position fix.
Have you tried to connect the ST16 to your computer using the USB charging cable? You must turn it on prior to connecting. It's possible the controller is actually booting up but the display stops working during the boot process.
If connected to the computer it will appear as an additional drive.

Did you format the SD card as FAT32?

Then add update.zip file

Then add folder firmware and its contents

Then add folder update and all of its contents

Next insert the card into the unpowered ST16 then power it on. It should update and you’ll see different screens appear. Once that is done reboot the ST16 after ejecting the SD card.

If you have no success, it may be bricked.

Remember - these are standard Android devices, so they behave exactly like any other Android tablet, phone, etc.
The fact the charging animation comes up means it's likely you can still recover even if recovery is corrupt.

"Fastboot" is the other mode that can be used to reflash most android devices. It uses different files though, and needs a computer and some ability to use command line tools.
Not sure if the ST16 definitely has this mode, or how to get into it if it does. One of the forum gurus might know for sure.

Still nothing... I really appreciate your help though! I was 100% lost on this

I will try some research on this! Thanks!

Just to inform you to not lose hope. Any android device can be reflashed from scratch. The problem here is the ST16 is a cheap thing, and no one will waste weeks to prepare recovery files.

There is a button behind the earphone jack. The ST16 sends you to the DnX mode, waiting for fastboot commands if you hold the button and switch on the RC controller.
